The devil is real and so is his domain. But the Church offers us so many ways to avoid both, especially by availing of the sacraments. All we have to do is in humility accept that we are fallen, and try to do better. The Good Shepherd loves us all, and wants us to be with Him.

I have recently re read a book from the 80's..PEOPLE OF THE LIE by M.Scott Peck. It didn't really gel with me back then but today in 2026 it is a Must Read ..in my opinion. EVIL obviously exists and is not hiding any more. This book is like a talisman to me as the World becomes a darker place every day and the contrast between Good and Evil is becoming clearer.

Thanks for this timely reflection Aisling. As a "vaccine" virgin, I remember having exactly those reactions to Covid and their so called vaccines . I remember thinking, if the Lord calls us now, so be it, His will be done...but would rather die than seek benefit from aborted babies cell lines. The Christian martyrs died cheerfully because they trusted in Jesus and his word, that He was indeed the Way, the Truth and the Life.

It seems to me that those who grow ever closer to Him live and die cheerfully...because He has conquered death Himself

Many thanks Aisling. Re "Would the Covid scam have been possible, for example, if people feared eternal damnation for their sins?"

Well, I suppose not at the scale it was/is although many Christians had previously fallen for the false saviour of toxic vaccines saving us from disease. The Devil is a nasty liar who has deceived many.

I think these statements of yours are the most relevant; "An honest Christian wouldn’t close the door on his neighbour because he declined such an abhorrent injection. An honest Christian would have spotted the wolves in sheep’s clothing masquerading as the good guys with their safe and effective solution to the phantom virus that had replaced the flu."

As you rightly say there is a winnowing going on, a sifting of the wheat from the chaff. As you say, "The refining process has yet to be completed. "

As to Hell it should strictly be 'Hades' or prehaps 'Sheol' as Hell used to mean a place of light in german it means 'clear, bright.' We even say 'Hello' which is in effect saying 'light to you'.

Of course hell is easier to say and goes well with heaven, but the origin is not a place of fire for torment except perhaps that to those who love darkness the light is absolutely terrifying.

it's the New Age stuff that's really sinister. It all sounds so reasonable, but it's pure vanity. You You You. And suddenly your ego is gigantic and you're thinking about money all the time, and how to extract the best possible experience from life. Other people are a distant second, and moral code is nowhere.

I have never quite managed to get my head around the idea of there being a 'loving God' who, if you don't conform to some kind of instruction in life, would subject you, or even your loved ones, to a never-ending, agonising, painful, conscious torture, simply for failure to conform to it.

It sounds like a concept that was cooked up by the worst kind of psychopathic mind that ever lived - simply for failure to believe that one individual, who lived in Western Asia around 2,000 years ago, was, in fact, the 'son of God'?

Thanks Aisling. An important message from you. I think this is probably the reason we are here. We've been gifted all these amazing things but Satan has been given the earth and he puts temptation in front of us as a test. Then we are judged.

And if you still believe that the psychological instrument of evil forces, the lie of contagion, exists, you at the very least have to deal with the deadly sin of sloth.

The information showing that the mythical thing they call "virus" does not exist is out there and very easy to access. By not doing so, you make a choice.

It took me a few weeks to see through the Covid scam, raised as a Catholic which didn't fill the void, ended up doing a lot of new age practices for about 20 years, had no idea that was what I was involved in as you don't enter a building with New Age above the door...........

Had a brain haemorrhage in May 2020, thankfully before they were insisting on the u know what to be taken in order to receive treatment, 9 months later God revealed to me that hell was real, it hit me like a tonne of bricks, as had I died from the brain haemorrhage I knew that's where I was headed, at the time of the bh I was very confidant as I was so 'spiritual' that I was going to heaven, what a deception, yes it's real and God will reveal the truth to you if you ask, the weeks before the revelation I had been asking him at night where he was and was it ok to turn to Him and talk to him directly (something we were not encouraged to do as Catholics) I got an image one night of all these people having their backs turned away from Him and felt how sad that was that so many of us have our backs turned from Him, not knowing at the time that the Bible tells us this:

Jeremiah 2:27: "Saying to a tree, ‘You are my father,’ and to a stone, ‘You gave me birth.’ For they have turned their back to Me, and not their face; but in the time of their trouble they will say, ‘Arise and save us.’"

Jeremiah 32:33: "And they have turned to Me the back, and not the face; though I taught them, teaching again and again, they would not listen and receive instruction".

2 Chronicles 29:6: "For our fathers have trespassed and done evil in the eyes of the Lord our God; they have forsaken Him, have turned their faces away from the tabernacle of the Lord, and turned their backs on Him."

I started reading the Bible, it reveals God's character and how He want's a relationship with us, that he loves us so much he sacrificed His only begotten Son so that we will not perish, if we turn to Him and recognise Jesus as our only Saviour.

The sad part is very few people want to know, most Catholics I share my story with get very defensive, the Bible clearly tells us that we are not to pray to anyone other than God or make statues and kneel before them. When Jesus told the apostles how to pray Matthew 6:9-13, He doesn't mention anyone else other than Our Father.

''If Hell isn’t real then do what thou wilt.''

As an atheist I do indeed do what I wilt ... and that doesn't and has never included: rape, murder, robbery, theft or fraud. My many sins have all been very minor affairs. Odd that is it not that you don't need to believe in any of the thousands of gods out there or any sort of afterlife to live a CHRISTIAN life. Christianity is an ethos NOT a religion and anyone can subscribe to it. Even atheists.

In fact I'd so far as to say that atheists are MORE moral than all those god botherers who only behave themselves because they fear an eternity in the deep fat fryer.

Mark Fletton's avatar

And, the fact is that history has shown that even those who believe fervently in the concept of an eternal deep-fat fryer are not immune from those behaviours you mentioned - it wasn't atheists who burned witches at the stake, as simply one obvious example.

Mick Bolton's avatar

That's something else that occurred to me ... they were highly motivated to burn witches ... we're never told how many warlocks were thrown on the bonfire.

Mark Fletton's avatar

Indeed, although it seems that some warlocks did suffer the same fate (eg Renfrewshire 1677, where 5 witches and 1 warlock were executed for killing Sir John Maxwell using 'sympathetic magic' - all were garrotted and then burned...with the utmost Christian kindness, I'm sure).

The arrogance of the atheist who know better than God. God does not send people to Hell. People choose hell. Free will-God loves us and gave us free will. And the rules are not draconian- rather they are sensible and reasonable. Heaven is a monarchy. Hell is a democracy.

According to AC/DC Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be. I'm not so sure.

Greg Wallis's avatar

Rather than hell, surely a loving benevolent God would wish to endow enlightenment? Which, in turn, should generate contrition, and thus forgiveness and redemption should follow, and all is then well. Eternal punishment is not the edict of a loving universal creator but the product of a perverse and sick mind. This, of course, fits in nicely with the belief of a satanic demiurge who rules over this realm but is subordinate to God; only those who are fully enlightened, wholeheartedly contrite, and desire firmly to return to the oneness of God can pass through. Thing is, we'll never know till we die. So working every day to become a better human, to show more love and kindness, is the only path we need to tread. But this has to come from an innate spiritual feeling and not a cool and calculated plan of action. I wish everyone much luck because I think we need it.

John Brophy's avatar

The message of Fatima confirms with gruesome details - Lúcia said that the first secret, a vision of Hell, was disclosed to the children on 13 July 1917:

«Our Lady showed us a great sea of fire which seemed to be under the earth. Plunged in this fire were demons and souls in human form, like transparent burning embers, all blackened or burnished bronze, floating about in the conflagration,..........»

This is why the sham synodal church is trying to demote Our Lady and her message of repentance, conversion and salvation.
