Families of these old people, dispatched on foot of highly questionable and sinister protocols, must drive this…an enquiry into every single death, as to what was recorded in medical files and what was administered. At the least this is gross negligence, at worst intentional.
Families have traditionally acted as safeguards against abuse of the old in these settings. It is the families who allowed themselves to be sidelined, watching through windows as this unfolded. They had agency and standing where the vulnerable old had none. Most of them did not exercise it.

Indeed, they should have fought tooth and nail. An uncle of mine died in UK hospital in 2020 and would have been alone without family. I emailed my aunt to strongly encourage her to push to get access. I understand she did along with a daughter. It still makes me angry to think that I had even to say this.
I knew it was very evil and the medical profession were at best incompetent. Even when it came to the funeral my uncle's 2 brothers (inc my father) might not have gone if I hadn't said they must insist. I was not very well myself but would have like to have gone myself.
